Rockwell Collins is acquiring the Matrix SIM and Matrix StIM projector products, which Christie will continue to manufacture with Rockwell Collins providing system engineering, integration and support.

“Rockwell Collins’ expertise and relationships in the military and aviation training segment, coupled with Christie’s technology, will deliver strong value to this growing customer base well into the future,” LeAnn Ridgeway, vice president and general manager of Simulation and Training Solutions at Rockwell Collins, said in a statement. “This relationship will enable Christie to focus on core strengths in product design, development, and manufacturing of projection technology and allows Rockwell Collins, through its network of customers and relationships, to bring the best products to the military and aviation simulation and training market.”

The deal also gives Rockwell Collins exclusive rights to sell other projection products and related software from Christie in the worldwide simulation and training market for military and aviation customers.

Christie will continue to sell the Matrix product line to non-military and non-aviation customers.
