BAY SHORE, N.Y., Feb. 19, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — IPVideo Corporation, a leading manufacturer of IP audio/video recording, IoT sensor technology and passive visual weapons detection systems, is proud to announce its participation in the annual Milestone Integration Platform Symposium (MIPS). This annual event will be held this year in Nashville, Tennessee February 25 –27, where IPVideo will showcase new product launches such as its award-winning HALO IoT Smart Sensor *(patent pending) a security solution for privacy areas.

Initially intended for schools to combat the vaping and school shooting epidemics, HALO IoT Smart Sensor has now expanded across industries. The HALO detects environmental changes that occur in privacy concern areas such as bathrooms, locker rooms, hotel rooms and hospital rooms. As a device on the network it will send immediate alerts to security personnel to respond.

With HALO, designated personnel will be alerted when environmental changes occur in typically unsupervised areas. HALO can detect flammables, hazardous chemicals, air quality changes such as vaping and smoking and changes in temperature and humidity. HALO can also detect noise level fluctuations and can send alerts when unusual activity occurs. HALO will also analyze room occupancy through light detection.

The HALO IoT Smart Sensor is integrated with the Milestone’s XProtect® video management software; uniting IoT smart sensor technology and video into one powerful situational awareness platform. Through the XProtect Event Manager, the XProtect® VMS enables the ability to monitor the HALO IoT Smart Sensor, discern the cause of an alarm, provide video verification, and establish rules for response.

“With HALO we were able to tie numerous sensors together into a single intelligent platform to learn, analyze and create event alerts directly to the Milestone Events Manager.” IPVideo Corporation President, David Antar, stated about HALO. “That’s what the future of security is all about, smart sensors using machine learning to analyze data and create event triggers that allow security personnel to respond and react in the proper way. The fact that HALO solves a security lapse for privacy areas is a tremendous bonus for all.”

Since its American debut in 2006, Milestone’s community event, MIPS, has become the benchmark for collaboration and innovation in the IP Video surveillance industry. In its 14th year, the 2019 three-day event will focus on how to create an intelligent world by harnessing the power of an open platform community – together. The Milestone event will showcase their partners’ global and local community-driven intelligent solutions.

“We’re excited to have IPVideo Corporation and their HALO IOT Smart Sensor participate in the Milestone Integration Platform Symposium”, says Jeremy Scott, Strategic Alliances Program Manager, Milestone Systems Americas. “This partnership will deliver great value to our joint customers by providing them a security measure for privacy areas. HALO uses smart sensors to augment the capabilities of traditional VMS using non-video smart sensors and IOT technology. This illustrates the value of the open platform community to join forces for improving safety and security.”
