Pentagon Says ‘Highest Priorities’ In Potential Shutdown Include Golden Dome, Border Operations

The Pentagon has said its “highest priorities” to continue supporting in the event of a government shutdown this week include U.S. Southern border and Middle East operations, the Golden Dome homeland defense project, shipbuilding, depot maintenance and critical munitions. Unlike a typical shutdown, those areas could receive funding support from the $150 billion in defense spending included in the massive reconciliation bill approved this summer.  “As in every case, efforts supporting these activities may occur during a lapse when resourced…
