Oshkosh Corp. [OSK] on Wednesday said that the head of its defense segment, John Urias, will retire next month to “attend matters regarding the health of his family.”
Wilson Jones, president and CEO of Oshkosh, will lead the defense business until a replacement for Urias is found. Urias will provide support to the company during the transition period.
Urias has served a president of Oshkosh Defense since 2011. Last fall the segment won a key contract for the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle. The defense segment had $939.8 million in sales for its fiscal year that ended in September 2015.
Urias retired from the Army as a major general following 31 years of service. Before joining Oshkosh, Urias worked for Raytheon [RTN], where his most recent assignment was vice president of programs for the Integrated Defense Systems segment.
“It’s been an honor working with John to serve the brave men and women of our Armed Forces,” Jones said in a statement. “His military expertise and business insights have been instrumental in the expansion of our defense product portfolio and global presence.”
