Navy Exercises Option On General Dynamics Sub Contract

The Navy has awarded General Dynamics [GD] Electric Boat a $459 million contract modification to continue providing design, engineering and logistics support on submarines. The option was exercised under a $1.2 billion contract originally issued in October 2010, General Dynamics said yesterday, and includes research and development. The contract also calls on General Dynamics to provide information services and support submarine maintenance and modernization activities, training and affordability/cost reduction efforts.
