In a move with somewhat unusual timing, Los Alamos National Laboratory last week announced the appointment of a new deputy director, saying Isaac "Ike" Richardson--a Bechtel Corp. executive and former nuclear Navy officer--will take over the chief operational post at the New Mexico nuclear weapons facility in February.
