Leidos [LDOS] on Wednesday reported solid profits versus a year ago when its suffered hefty impairment charges in its health and engineering businesses, although sales contracted slightly due to fewer revenues from Defense Department war-related operations.Net income was $37 million, 50 cents earnings per share (EPS), versus a $439 million ($5.93 EPS) loss a year ago.
