L-3, Morpho Detection Share In Potential $1.1 Billion TSA Award

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) this week awarded separate contracts worth a combined $1.1 billion to L-3 Communications [LLL] and Morpho Detection, Inc. (MDI), to supply medium-speed explosives detection systems (EDS) to the nation’s airports during the next five years. L-3’s Security & Detection Systems division received slightly more than half of the potential contract, $549.6 million, with MDI’s award worth up to $528.2 million.
