L-1 Identity Solutions [ID] has received a combined $13.4 million in orders from Latvia and Paraguay for various identity solutions and services. Latvia awarded L-1 an $8 million contract renewal to produce licenses for automobile drivers and pleasure craft operators. The work runs from Feb. 1, 2009 through Dec. 31, 2012. The original contract, which began in 2004, included hardware, software and consumables. The extension is for maintenance and consumables. Under a $5.4 million contract with Paraguay L-1 will provide software, services and credential supplies for that country’s new national identification and passport system. L-1 will help digitize historical identity files so that records can be shared more easily between departments and will also provide TP4100 livescan devices for electronic fingerprint capture. L-1 will open four enrollment centers across the country, including one that serves as a central production facility, which will be operated by the Paraguayan government.
