HPE Acquires SGI, Strengthens Capabilities In Data Analytics, High-End Computing

Hewlett Packard Enterprise [HPE] has completed its $275 million acquisition of SGI, boosting its capabilities in big data analytics and high performance computing.HPE said the acquisition enables better support of private and public sector customers that want larger high-performance computing installations, including United States government agencies and enterprises.“This deal combines SGI’s computing strengths with HPE’s global reach,” Antonio Neri, executive vice president and general manager, Enterprise Group, at HPE, said in a statement. “SGI’s technologies and services will further our…
