House Passes Defense Policy Bill

The House passed the annual defense authorization bill via a 315-108 margin last Friday, after adding a requirement to sell F-16 fighter jets to Taiwan and rejecting members’ attempts to cut funding in the overall legislation. The bill, which sets Pentagon policy for fiscal year 2014, authorizes a $552.1 billion base defense budget and $85.8 billion in Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO) war funding.
