House Appropriators To Consider Civilian Nuclear Weapons Budget Tuesday

The House Appropriations Committee was scheduled Tuesday to vote on the first draft of the 2023 spending bill that funds civilian nuclear weapons programs at the Department of Energy and other agencies. Nuclear weapons programs at DoE’s semiautonomous National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) would receive a little less funding than requested for 2023, under the bill approved last week by the House energy and water development subcommittee.
