GTRI Develops New Directed Energy T&E System

Researchers at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) have developed a system to test and evaluate high energy lasers, an official said. Directed energy weapons, such as the Boeing [BA] Airborne Laser, or the Joint High Power Solid-State Laser (JHPSSL) developed by Northrop Grumman [NOC], now have matured enough to be on the brink of moving from development to deployment.
