GD Posts Strong Third Quarter On Broad Strength

By Calvin Biesecker Bolstered by higher profits and margins at each of its business groups, General Dynamics [GD] reported strong third quarter financial results and upped its earnings guidance for the year. Net income increased 16 percent to $634 million, $1.59 earnings per share, from $546 million ($1.34 EPS), topping Wall Street's expectations by eight cents.
