GAO Recommends Navy Improve Drone Development Via Reorganization, Iterative Approach

Over a year ago the Government Accountability Office (GAO) gave the Navy recommendations on how to reorganize and shift its approach to robotic and autonomous systems (RAS) in order to improve their development and fielding, but said the service has still not fully implemented them. In March 2025, a classified GAO report said it found the Navy had still not taken some important steps to better develop RAS capabilities quicker despite its stated need for faster implementation of RAS.
