GA Nabs $134 Million MDA Contract For New MQ-9 Sensor

The Missile Defense Agency on Monday awarded General Atomics (GA) Electromagnetic Systems a $134 million contract to finish the development, integration, and flight test of an advanced sensor on MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).The sensor and MQ-9 will be used in “realistic test scenarios” both inside and outside the continental U.S., the Defense Department said.Last September MDA awarded GA a $30 million single year contract to continue demonstrating passive MDA-configured MQ-9s (Defense Daily, Sept. 15, 2017).The agency has previously…
