EU Inaugurates SESAR

The European Union is launching a new air traffic management system to help cope with increasing numbers of flights over Europe. The system will employ the same satellite-based technology as the Federal Aviation Administration's NextGen System. Eurocontrol says Europe's air space has reached its limit with 28,000 flights a day, but that number is nevertheless expected to double by 2030.
