EADS in CRADA with Navy EOD Division to Refine Threat Detection Tech

The U.S.-based division of the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Co. (EADS) has signed a cooperative research and development agreement (CRADA) with the Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technology Division to adapt the capabilities of its man-portable Unattended Luggage Inspection System (ULIS). The ULIS currently is able to identify both the presence and location of chemical, radiological and explosive threats located in ordnance, parcels or luggage.
