Divesting A-10 Fleet Would Save Nearly $3.7 Billion, Welsh Says

Divesting its entire A-10 fleet would save the Air Force nearly $3.7 billion, including logistics and infrastructure, Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh said yesterday. “We would have to shut down three to four times as many F-16 squadrons as A-10s,” to get the same savings, Welsh said at an even hosted by the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) think tank in Washington.
