DHS Selects 11 Universities to Lead New Centers of Excellence

The Department of Homeland Security has created five new Centers of Excellence, which will be co-led by 11 universities. Each center will receive a grant of up to $2 million a year for four to six years. "Investments in long-term, basic research are vital for the future of homeland security," says Jay Cohen, under secretary for Science and Technology.
