COSCON Logistics Selects Savi for GPS-Tagged Shipment Visibility

COSCON Logistics, a subsidiary of China's COSCO Group, has selected Lockheed Martin's [LMT] Savi Networks to provide a GPS-based sensor network to provide real-time visibility of cargo shipments. The program is the first large-scale commercial GPS-based tracking system launched so far in China. Savi will provide sensors that are attached to COSCON shipping containers. The sensing capabilities will give immediate alerts of cargo theft and damage, location and security of the cargo. COSCON will offer the service to key shippers…
