OSI Systems Nabs $22M in Orders for Inspection Systems

OSI Systems [OSIS] says its Rapiscan Systems division has received two orders worth a combined $22 million for inspection systems. The company received a $6 million order from an international customer to provide Rapiscan 600 series baggage and parcel X-Ray inspection systems. The order includes accessories, maintenance and support. The customer wasn’t disclosed. The second order, worth $16 million, is for maintenance and support of U.S. aviation checkpoint inspection systems. The company didn’t identify the customer, which is likely the Transportation Security Administration.

FEMA Adds $60M to Contract Ceiling for NFIP Support

The Federal Emergency Management Agency is increasing the ceiling value by $60 million for an existing contract with Torrent Technologies, Inc., for support of the National Federal Insurance Program. The new ceiling value is $158.2 million and the ordering period ends on March 29.

Smiths Detection Checkpoint CT Systems to Heathrow, Kuwait Airport

Smiths Detection has been awarded contracts to supply its HI-SCAN 6040 CTiX computed tomography (CT) carry-on baggage scanners to London’s Heathrow Airport and Kuwait’s new international airport Terminal 2. The value of the awards wasn’t disclosed. For Heathrow, the award includes the CTiX systems and the iLane automatic tray return systems and Checkpoint Evo-plus operation management solution. The award also includes a 10-year service agreement. The first lanes will be installed later this year. For the Kuwaiti airport, Smiths will supply 70 of the CTiX machines. Limak Insaat is the prime contractor for the Kuwait effort. The CT systems allow passengers to leave electronic devices and liquids in their bags.

TSA Awards ManTech Bridge Contract for IT Support

The Transportation Security Administration awarded ManTech International [MANT] a potential one-year contract bridge to continue providing information technology (IT) operations and maintenance support services for the Technology Solutions Division Mission Operations Systems. The value of the award, which runs from Nov. 2020 to Nov. 2021 if all options are exercised, was redacted. The Mission Operations Systems include Secure Flight, Transportation Vetting System, Technology Infrastructure Modernization, and the Consolidated Screening Gateway. The bridge contract provides time for TSA to complete a follow-on competition for the support services.
