Congress Poised To Slap More Oversight On LCS

The defense policy bill for fiscal 2014 sitting before Congress proposes placing additional oversight on the Navy’s Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) program and requires the Pentagon to assess its capabilities and certify that it will meet mission requirements. The proposed 2014 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) would instruct the Navy along with the Pentagon’s director of testing and evaluation to submit reports to Congress within 60 days that outline the current concept of operations for each of the two variants…
