Computer Vision Navigation Startup Vermeer Raises $10 Million

Vermeer, a New York-based startup with operations in Ukraine, has closed a $10 million Series A round to further develop its computer vision-based technology designed to allow drones and other aerial vehicles navigate in GPS-denied environments. The funding round was led by Draper Associates. Vermeer’s product is called Visual Positioning System (VPS) that leverages artificial intelligence and inputs from up to four electro-optical or infrared cameras to analyze the environment so that unmanned aircraft systems can passively navigate in GPS…
