Booz Allen Hamilton [BAH] and Shift5 on Tuesday announced a strategic partnership that integrates Shift5’s technology that collects data on networks and platforms such as weapon systems into Booz Allen’s artificial intelligence and machine learning-based cybersecurity and predictive maintenance solutions.

The partnership follows an investment a year ago by Booz Allen’s venture arm in Shift5, a startup that has developed operational technology (OT) software that gives users more insights into the performance of their assets and fleets, such as predictive maintenance and compliance with cybersecurity requirements (

“Operational technology is a linchpin for national security, enabling U.S. critical infrastructure to perform essential functions,” Brad Medairy, executive vice president and leader of Booz Allen’s National Cyber business, said in a statement. “As adversaries increasingly view the U.S. federal government, intelligence agencies, the military, and all critical infrastructure industries as one cyber battlespace, ensuring cyber-physical resilience and mission readiness within OT environments is paramount.”

Shift5’s technology is hardware, bus, and protocol agnostic.
