Boeing [BA] demonstrated that its Avenger-mounted laser system can take out improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and unexploded ordnance (UXO) threatening troops deployed in war zones, the company said yesterday. Avenger is an air-defense turret that can be mounted on Humvees and other vehicles.
