A Boeing [BA]-built Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) facility supporting CH-147F Chinook maintenance training has opened, the company said on April 15.

An initial class of eighteen technicians already graduated from the center’s RCAF-led training courses before the formal grand opening of the facility, the new Medium-to-Heavy Life Helicopters (MHLH) Maintenance Training Center at Garrison Petawawa, Ontario, Canada.

The center is aimed at enhancing the skills of maintenance personnel responsible for the readiness and support of the RCAF’s Chinook fleet.

“Boeing’s training suite equips the RCAF with essential aircraft maintenance knowledge, preparing their technicians for a wide range of operational missions,” Tony Barnett, Boeing project manager at Canadian Medium-to-Heavy-Lift-Helicopter training systems, said in a statement.
