BAE Systems said on Friday that discussions over the planned sale of its Flight Systems business unit to Calspan Corp. have terminated and that the business will remain with BAE.
The $62.5 million proposed sale was announced in March and BAE said the deal was in line with its strategy of de-emphasizing is role as a subsystems provider while it concentrates on its strength as a developer and systems integrator (Defense Daily, March 7). United Kingdom-based BAE didn’t say why the sale talks collapsed.
California-based Flight Systems performs aircraft modifications and operations, flight testing, and production of full-scale aerial targets for military and commercial customers.
