ATK, GD, Team Up On Marines’ Mortar Program

ATK [ATK] has teamed up with General Dynamics [GD] to produce the Precision Extended Range Mortar (PERM) for the Marine Corps, ATK said yesterday. ATK will be the prime contractor for the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase and will combine with General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems propulsion and warhead subsystems to provide the 120mm long-range mortar fired from the Expeditionary Fire Support System (EFSS) towed-mortar platform.
