The Army plans to solicit, negotiate and award a sole-source contract with Thales Raytheon Systems (TRS) for a three year Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) and Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF), Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for radar spare parts and components.

The minimum guarantee for the acquisition is $1.1 million, with an estimated overall ceiling value of $83.5 million.

Army Contracting Command wants the work for the AN/TPQ-36(V)/Q36, AN/TPQ-37(V)/Q37, and AN/TPQ-46(V) FIREFINDER Radar Systems, and for associated repair, engineering, and field technical support services.

The Army notice in FedbizOps.gov said market research determined that only TRS has the unique capabilities to satisfy the government’s requirements for this proposed contractual action.

TRS owns the proprietary data associated with these radar systems and the government does not have detailed technical data or drawings that would enable competition for this effort.

Solicitation W15P7T-11-R-T203 will be issued on or about Feb. 8, with an estimated contract award date of  July 27.
