Army Awards L-3 $454 Million For Tactical UAS Laser Designator Payload

The Army has awarded L-3 Technologies [LLL] a five-year, $454 million deal to deliver electro-optic infrared laser designator payloads for the RQ-7Bv2 tactical unmanned aerial system, the Pentagon said Wednesday.L-3 will be tasked with delivery of the laser payloads, managing qualification and first article testing, and handling logistics and repair support, according to a FedBizOpps notice on the program.Army officials wrote in the request for proposals that it would only accept non-developmental, mature laser EO/IR/LD payloads for the RQ-7Bv2.Department of…
