Antares Failure Investigation Focusing On First Stage Engines

Orbital Sciences [ORB] said Friday its investigation into the Oct. 28 Antares failure is prioritizing finding, cataloging and securing any elements remaining from the first stage propulsion system. The company said in a Thursday statement evidence suggests the launch failure initiated in the first stage, after which the vehicle lost its propulsive capability and fell back to the ground, impacting near, but not on, the Wallops Island launch pad.
