Implant has also received $500,000 in follow-on funding from the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate to develop integrated, miniaturized sub-systems for use in the detection and identification of trace explosives. The original contract was awarded to Ion Metrics, which Implant acquired in April. So far, $2.7 million has been awarded under the contract as part of the Counter-Improvised Explosive Device program.
