Air Force Schedules Tuesday Minuteman III Test Launch

The Air Force is scheduled to perform an operational test launch of an unarmed Minuteman III ICBM Tuesday morning between 6:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. EDT, according to a service statement. Launch will take place from Vandenberg AFB, Calif. The purpose is to validate and verify the effectiveness, readiness and accuracy of the weapon system. The last Minuteman III test launch took place last December.
