The Air Force has awarded Raytheon [RTN] a $31 million contract to design new devices for encrypting and transmitting voice and data traffic, the company said yesterday. Raytheon said it will be the first upgrade in more than two decades for the transmitters designed to be portable and used in airborne, land or sea operations.
