Air Force Awards Boeing $3.2 Billion JDAM Contract

The Air Force on Tuesday awarded Boeing [BA] a fixed-price contract worth as much as $3.2 billion for Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) tail kits, according to a Defense Department statement.The contract is a fixed-price, incentive-firm, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract modification to a previously awarded contract. Boeing will provide JDAM strap-on inertial guidance kits with the capability to receive guidance updates from Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to increase weapon accuracy for conventional inventory bombs.The undefinitized contract action was awarded…
