AeroVironment Secures Nearly $1 Billion Army Deal For ‘Organic, Stand-Off Capability’

The Army has awarded AeroVironment [AVAV] a nearly $1 billion contract for the company to provide “an organic, stand-off capability to dismounted infantry formations.” Work on the deal is expected to be completed by late August 2029, the Pentagon said on Tuesday, with AeroVironment as the sole bidder for the work. Under the $990 million cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price hybrid contract, AeroVironment will provide a system “capable of destroying tanks, light armored vehicles, hardened targets, defilade and personnel targets,” according to…
