Zumwalt Installs Of Hypersonic Weapon Tubes On Pace, Testing For IOC Unclear

The Navy’s three Zumwalt-class destroyers are proceeding roughly on time to install the missile tubes and systems that will allow them to be the service's ships to field hypersonic weapons, but the testing schedule with the missiles themselves is uncertain, an official said Tuesday. The lead ship in the class, the USS Zumwalt (DDG-1000) is the first one to install the missile tubes that will allow it to launch the Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) hypersonic weapon after testing completes.
