Versa Fuel Cell To Power ‘Vulture’ Aircraft

Versa Power Systems Inc., a leading developer of solid oxide fuel cells, has been selected to work with Boeing's Integrated Defense Systems to develop an unmanned aircraft for the Department of Defense capable of remaining aloft for five years and carrying a 1,000-pound payload. In the first phase of the program, awarded under a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) contract, the Boeing-led team will provide design plans for the "long- endurance" aircraft, called Vulture.
