U.K. Appoints Gen. Sir Peter Wall New Chief of General Staff

Gen. Sir Peter Wall has been approved by the Queen as new Chief of the General Staff. Wall will take over from Gen. Sir David Richards in September. Lt. Gen. Sir Nick Parker, of the Royal Green Jackets, is current deputy commander of the International Security Assistance Force-Afghanistan will take over from Wall as Commander-in-Chief Land Forces, with the rank of general in October.
