TSA Plans Large EDS Awards to L-3 and GE

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) plans to award a slight majority of upcoming contracts for Explosives Detection Systems (EDS) to L-3 Communications [LLL], up to $343.8 million over the next five years, with General Electric [GE] expected to get upwards of $329.1 million over that period. The planned awards to both companies will be made in June, according to notices last month in the FedBizOpps. GE, L-3 and Reveal Imaging Technologies are the only three companies with EDS systems certified…
