The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued a draft Request for Proposals (RFP) for the procurement of High-Speed, Medium-Speed and Reduced-Size Explosive Detection Systems (EDS) to be deployed at the nation’s airports. TSA is planning an Industry Day at its Transportation Security Integration Facility in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 6 for the Checked Baggage Inspection Systems procurement. TSA is planning a three phase procurement for CBIS with the first phase a downselect companies to move into test and evaluation. Phase II will be a pass/fail evaluation of certification and minimum requirements testing in order to move into the final evaluation stage, which is Phase III.
