The TerreStar-1 telecommunications satellite was mated to its Ariane 5 launcher, set for a July 1 launch, Arianespace announced. TerreStar-1 will be the world's largest civilian telecommunications satellite ever launched, according to the company, and it is riding as a solo payload on a dedicated Ariane 5 that will lift off from the European spaceport in French Guiana, South America.
