SpectraFluidics Says Its Technology Detects Trace Levels of PETN

SpectraFluidics, Inc., a small California-based firm that plans to release its first product this year, says its sensing technology has successfully detected trace levels of PETN, the explosive used in the failed Christmas day bombing aboard Northwest Airlines flight 253, as well the explosives RDX and TNT. The company says its first commercial product can be configured as either a portal type system or a handheld device.
