Smiths Detection Awarded Potential $75M Contract for Chem Detectors

Smiths Detection has received an initial $10 million order under a potential $75 million contract to supply the Army with GID-3 Automatic Chemical Agent Detector Alarm units. The GID-3 is an advanced point-sampling chemical agent detection system that continuously monitors for the presence of nerve agents and blister chemicals. The detectors can be mounted in vehicles, deployed remotely or carried by dismounted soldiers.
