In a bow to political pragmatism, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has endorsed the "special conditions" proposed recently for fuel tank safety. "We believe that, at the current time, this NPSC [notice of proposed special conditions] is consistent with the board's position to reduce flammability to the greatest extent technically feasible," the NTSB said in its submission to the docket.
