RTX Posts Strong Operating Results But Bevy Of Charges Crimp Income In Second Quarter

A series of charges ranging from legal resolutions and a looming international contract termination to accounting adjustments and restructuring items drove earnings down at RTX [RTX] in the second quarter despite strong operating results and higher sales at its aerospace and engine businesses that benefited from commercial and defense work, the company reported on Thursday.
