Raytheon [RTN] recently said it has acquired Telemus Solutions, Inc., which provides security consulting and intelligence advisory services to defense, intelligence and other federal customers.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Telemus, which is based in Northern Virginia, has core capabilities in threat and vulnerability assessments, emergency response planning, security training, and specialized research and analysis.

“This acquisition represents Raytheon’s latest step in building an end-to-end information security offering to address our customers’ most critical security needs,” Michael Keebaugh, president of the company’s Intelligence and Information Systems segment, said in a statement. “The purchase of Telemus underscores Raytheon’s continued focus on the emerging cyber security market and demonstrates our leadership in providing technologies that solve our customers’ most complex information security challenges.”

Raytheon began its quest to bolster its information security capabilities last fall with the acquisition of Oakley Networks, which was followed by the purchase of SI Government Solutions this spring (Defense Daily, Oct. 24, 2007, April 21).
