CHERRY HILL, N.J., June 6, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) has been awarded the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. The award is the highest recognition given by the U.S. Government to employers for their outstanding support of employees serving in the Guard and Reserve.

The Freedom Award is hosted by Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense (DoD) program that promotes cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers, and assists in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee’s military commitment.

Military employees, or a family member acting on their behalf, are given the opportunity each year to nominate their employer for the Freedom Award.

“UTRS’s commitment to all of our employees—but especially those who wear the uniform and serve our country—is intrinsic to our company. Employing and supporting those who serve to protect our nation are engrained in the fabric of our company,” said Steve George, Executive Vice President.

As part of the awards process, the ESGR State Committees review nominations in three categories: small employer, large employer, and public sector. The committees submit recommendations for advancement to the next round, and then a national selection board chooses up to 15 employers to receive the Freedom Award.

UTRS was recognized at the Annual Planning and Awards Meeting (APAM) luncheon on Wednesday, May 22.

UTRS is a technology firm that delivers a wide range of engineering, technical, strategic, and digital services to the public and private sectors. To learn more about UTRS, visit https://www.utrs.com.
