The Global Special Operations Forces (SOF) Foundation hosts an annual reception in the greater-DC area to convene the local SOF and defense community; the 2018 event will take place at the Crystal Gateway Marriott and feature keynote remarks from Susan M. Gordon.

ARLINGTON, Va., Nov. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — The Global Special Operations Forces (SOF) Foundation’s Annual National Capital Region (NCR) Reception will be held for the fifth time on Wednesday, November 14 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Crystal City.

This evening reception convenes the Special Operations-focused community in the U.S. Capital for networking and a Keynote Speaker. Previous speakers have included Senator Joni Ernst, LTG Michael Nagata, and Mr. Michael Lumpkin.

This year’s Keynote Speaker is The Honorable Susan M. Gordon, who currently serves as Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence. She was sworn in on August 7, 2017, and in her role assists the DNI in leading the Intelligence Community (IC) and managing the ODNI. In particular, she focuses on advancing intelligence integration across the IC, expanding outreach and partnerships, and driving innovation across the Community.

With nearly three decades of experience in the IC, Ms. Gordon has served in a variety of leadership roles spanning numerous intelligence organizations and disciplines. She is also a dynamic and engaging speaker, and will begin speaking soon after the start of the reception.

The Global SOF Foundation’s growing international network is a key component of its success, and events like the Annual NCR Reception allow that network to connect and grow. This event annually brings together close to 300 members of the community from academia, government, active duty and retired military, defense attaches, defense industry, think tanks and more.

The event will be preceded by a VIP Pre-Reception that is only open to GSF Corporate Partners, active duty military, and government representatives from 5 -6 p.m.
